Tomato Prices Are Increasing Shilpa Shetty’s ‘Dhadkan’. We Can Totally Relate
Increase in the price of tomatoes across India has become the fodder for memes. Lately, several celebrities joined the meme fest, sharing their unique takes on the soaring tomato prices. Be it Urfi Javed styling tomatoes as earrings or Suniel Shetty’s remark that he has reduced tomato consumption, we are comig across various types of news and videos on social media. Now, the latest celebrity to join the list is Shilpa Shetty Kundra. The Bollywood diva uploaded a hilarious video, which has a connection with one of her iconic movies. The clip opens with Shilpa Shetty – in what looks like a supermarket – picking up a bright red tomato as the tune of the song ‘Dil Ne Yeh Kaha’ from her 2000-release film ‘Dhadkan’ plays in the background. As soon as Shilpa brings the vegetable close to her cheeks, the music fades away and is followed up by a popular dialogue from the movie.

The dialogue, in the voice of Shilpa Shetty, goes: “How dare you? Khabardar jo mujhe chune ki koshish ki. Kis haq se tumne mujhe chua. Tumhara koi haq nhi mujhpe. (Dare you try to even touch me. Do you have any right to touch me? You don’t have any right over me).”
Shilpa Shetty’s spot-on expressions were a show stealer. In the end, she placed the tomato back in the rack and walked away. In the caption, she wrote, “Tamatar ke prices are raising my Dhadkan (The prices of tomatoes are raising my heartbeat)”.
