Hollywood royalty Tom Hanks is left stunned by Ollie Watkins’ quick-fire opener against Arsenal after the actor met the Aston Villa squad in the locker room before the Premier League clash
Tom Hanks was left in disbelief as Ollie Watkins produced a fine finish to put Aston Villa ahead vs. Arsenal on Saturday.
The Hollywood star was spotted at Villa Park ahead of Villa’s mouthwatering Premier League game with title challenger Arsenal.
After meeting Unai Emery’s squad in the locker room ahead of the game Hanks was seen taking in the game from the directors’ box.
He waved to fans before sitting down for kickoff but he was soon back on his feet when Watkins stunned with a fine goal in just the fifth minute.
The 66-year-old expressed his passion for Villa in January 2008 and it’s believed to be his first ever visit to the stadium.

Hanks was seen having a word with one of the home officials and got a feeling for the pitch alongside club CEO Christian Purslow before the match.
The American actor, based in Los Angeles, admitted his support for Villa to Channel 5 in 2013, he said: ‘I am. Well I’ve seen one Aston Villa match, it was a friendly in the United States.
‘I try to keep up. I have a very good friend that lives and dies by Aston Villa, he’s in Los Angeles as well, so I’m always getting my updates from him.
‘Because I can never figure out what channel the football match is on on my grid at home – 583, 643, 801? I can never quite find it.
‘Every time I’m looking at the football matches on the soccer channels, as we call it, it’s always West Ham playing Man United, Tottenham va Queens Park Rangers. Bring me Villa, bring me Villa!
‘Doesn’t it sound like a lovely place, Aston Villa? I had a lovely massage at Aston Villa…’
The official club Twitter account shared photos of Hanks meeting players before the game, including the likes of playmaker Philippe Coutinho, who scored Villa’s second goal.
The Brazilian put Villa back in front with a cool finish in the 31st minute after Bukayo Saka had equalized for the visitors shortly after Watkins’ opener.
