Brady said that he was inspired by one of his idols, Steve Young, to ‘pay it forward’
He told them that where you were drafted is ‘not a big deal’ as long as your work ethic is high
‘One of my idols, [former San Francisco 49ers QB Steve Young] encouraged me always to “pay it forward”. Now that I’ve come to the end of my 23 year journey I am so excited to watch and help the next group reach their potential as athletes, as teammates, and men working to bring the best out of themselves and the communities they represent.
‘We got to spend many hours, talking, learning, and discussing what it takes to be your best. In my opinion, hard work, and consistent discipline are two critical ingredients to that formula.
‘I loved listening to and learning from @travisscott about his amazing journey as well, and couldn’t be more amazed by his incredible accomplishments, as a musician, entrepreneur, creative visionary and artist in every sense of the word (not to mention a great guy.)
‘Although my trip to Los Angeles was very quick, I look forward to the next time I see these guys take the field, using their amazing gifts as athletes to entertain us all and inspire us to keep going , and be our best for our families and our communities! Thanks again fellas! Until the next time.’
Video from the meeting also surfaced, with Brady offering the young signal callers a great message regarding work ethic and determination.
Brady said his whole career, he felt he had to work hard in order to have an edge on everyone
Brady also met with the platinum selling rapper, designer, and producer Travis Scott
‘Going in the second round in the end, that’s not really that big of a deal,’ Brady explained. ‘Going first overall. In the end, it’s not a big deal.
‘It’s great. You got opportunity. You’re probably gonna be paid more than anyone for a time period. But I was I was drafted, you know, 199(th overall). I just outlasted everybody.’
He added that motivation to stay ahead of those who were similarly motivated as him drove him to bettering himself.
‘There’s another me back there, right? So how do I keep my edge on everybody? I had to keep working. I didn’t go, “hey, I’m good, right? I won three Super Bowls. I’m good.”‘
