Tom Brady ‘lost 15 pounds during the 2022 season’ amid Gisele Bundchen divorce and Tampa Bay woes

The 2022 NFL season proved particularly challenging for Tom Brady amid his divorce from Gisele Bundchen and the struggling Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ record, and it reportedly took its toll on the quarterback in the form of weight loss.

Brady and Bundchen announced their divorce on October 28, 2022 following weeks of speculation since the beginning of the NFL preseason.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner hadn’t got off to an ideal start on the field either with his Bucs posting a record of 3-5 by Week 8.

It has now been revealed that the 45-year-old lost 15 pounds during the season, while coping with woes in both his personal and professional life, according to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington.

‘When Brady sat quietly at his locker after an October 27 loss to the Ravens, marking his first three-game losing streak in two decades, the truth of his pain would be revealed the following morning,’ Darlington detailed in his report, referencing Brady’s social media statement confirming that his marriage was over.

Since the Week 8 loss, Brady and the Bucs did manage to bounce back as the quarterback appeared to put his struggles behind him.

The Buccaneers ultimately finished 8-9 in the regular season and clinched spot in the wild card round of the playoffs before ultimately crashing out to the Dallas Cowboys 31-14.

Brady briefly retired last February after 22 seasons in the NFL but performed a U-turn on his decision just 40 days later to return to the Bucs for this season.

However, after a tumultuous year in Tampa Bay, it remains to be seen if Brady has another season left in him.

He is set to become a free agent this offseason and his Buccaneers teammates reportedly already believe he will not be returning to Tampa with the Las Vegas Raiders said to be interested.

But retiring – for a second time – could also be a possibility with a ten-year, $375m analyst deal with Fox Sports waiting for him when he eventually does hang up his cleats.

However, he made it explicitly clear earlier this week that no decision has been made, during a testy rant on his Let’s Go! podcast.

Co-host Jim Gray asked him: ‘Do you have any timetable as to what you want to do regarding your football career?’

To which Brady emphatically answered: ‘Jim, if I knew what I was going to f***ing do, I would’ve already f***ing done it. Ok? I’m taking it a day at a time.’

Brady and Bundchen ended their marriage after 13 years with many believing that the quarterback re-entering the NFL became a bone of contention for the Brazilian supermodel.

A source confirmed to DailyMail.com in late-September that their physical separation was not impacted by Brady’s move to rejoin his beloved sport.

Both said they would continue to co-parent their two children together. The couple are expected to share custody of their two children, Vivian, nine and Benjamin, 12. Tom also has a third son, 15-year-old son Jack with ex Bridget Moynahan.

The Bucs star said the divorce had been a ‘difficult’ and ‘painful’ decision that the pair reached after ‘much consideration’.

Following the split, Brady insisted he would throw himself into being a dad and he recently toured a private school in Miami for his children earlier this week.

The quarterback and Bundchen bought a plot of land located on Indian Creek Island in Miami in late 2020 and construction is continuing on the $17million mansion.

However, Bundchen reportedly bought an $11.5 million mansion directly across the waterway from Brady’s mansion in Billionaire Bunker just a couple of weeks before their divorce was finalized.
