Tokyo Paralympics Day 9: Indian players participate in shooting, badminton, canoe sprint, taekwondo, shot put

On the ninth day of Tokyo Paralympics, Indian players are participating in shooting, badminton, canoe sprint, taekwondo and shot put . In shooting, Rahul Jakhar had to settle for fifth place in the final of the 25m range. Earlier in the qualification round, Rahul finished second while Akash could not make it to the final.
In the women’s singles of badminton, Palak Kohli defeated Zehra Baglar of Turkey 2-0. Parul Dalsukhbhai Parmar lost to Hefang Cheng of China. In Group A of men’s singles, Noida District Megistrate Suhas L. Yathiraj defeated Jan Pot of Germany 2-0. In Group B, Tarun defeated Thailand’s Siripong Temarrom 2-0. In another match, in Group B itself, Krishna Nagar defeated Didin Taresoh of Malaysia 2-0. In women’s doubles, the pair of Palak Kohli and Parul Dalsukhbhai Parmar lost to the Chinese pair in Group A.
Prachi Yadav has entered the semi-finals in the Kenoy Sprint Heat event. In Taekwondo, Aruna had to face defeat in the quarterfinals. Aruna will now take on Royala Fataliyeva of Azerbaijan in Repechage.
Arvind will show his mettle in the men’s shot put final this evening.
In the medal tally, India is at 35th position with a total of ten medals including two gold, five silver and three bronze. China first with 74 gold, Britain second with 32 gold and Russia Paralympic Committee-RPC in third place with 32 gold.
