Friday night in Sag Harbor, a group of highly-colorful guests descended on the town’s wharf to board a beautiful boat for a sunset cruise. The reason for the festivities? To fete Valentino’s 2022 Escape Collection, which celebrates all things summer, exploration, and easy living.
Kicking things off, guests including Lana Condor, Nicky Hilton Rothchild, Charlotte Groenveld, Gabby Richardson, and more arrived at their hotel rooms to find the perfect summer goodie basket waiting for them—Valentino-approved wares like a paddle ball set and outdoor speakers. Most everything was splashed in a psychedelic wavy pattern from Valentino’s new collection. At Valentino, it’s all about the details! And since the arrival of Valentino on East Hampton’s Main Street in the summer of 2021, the Italian Fashion house has lured its fans out east for a celebration of all things summer.
Just after 7 pm, everyone was shuttled over to Sag Harbor, where they would find a step and repeat (again, doused in the same color-rich pattern) bedecked with surfboards. Up on the Valentino-fied boat, florals and pillows helped to create the ambiance, which was enhanced by a purple-pink sunset as the boat whizzed toward Shelter Island.
The same pattern was also found on the likes of Hilton Rothchild, who wore it in an adorable short and cabana-shirt set, and on a dress worn by Harley Viera Newton. It all felt like a naval Gesamtkunstwerk with everything in perfect harmony—especially with DJ Isaac Likes providing the tunes. At one point during the 2-hour-long cruise, a dance party ensued on the top deck. There’s no escaping it, Valentino knows how to throw a good party.
