Tim Allen says Jay Leno is recuperating at Grossman Burn Center after suffering ‘severe’ injuries in fire
The organizers of the Las Vegas finance conference where Leno was slated to speak last week, i.e., on November 13, informed guests via email that Leno had to postpone his presentation due to a “severe medical emergency.”
Allen joked that Leno’s face didn’t look all that great before the accident but added that he still looks fantastic when asked how Leno’s face looked after the mishap.
Less than a week has passed since Leno, 72, was working on a steam engine underneath a car in his garage when the fire broke out.
Leno is presently dealing with severe burns to his face, chest, and hand after being dragged from under the automobile. Leno is doing well after undergoing surgical removal and grafting for his wounds, according to Dr. Peter Grossman, medical director of the Grossman Burn Center.
Leno has additionally been receiving rigorous hyperbaric oxygen therapy at the hospital, which, according to Grossman, should improve blood oxygenation by oxygenating more plasma, leading to better blood flow throughout the body.
According to Grossman, some facial wounds “are a little bit deeper and a little more serious” since they may develop into third-degree burns.
Leno is well renowned for his colossal automobile collection, which is rumored to consist of about 180 automobiles and 160 motorcycles. His CNBC program Jay Leno’s Garage, which he started in 2015 and finished airing its final episode at the end of last month, ran for seven seasons.
