Three arrested in Darshan slipper incident at Hospete – Times of India

The Hospet Police in the Vijayanagar district has arrested three people in connection with a slipper attack on Darshan during the ‘Kranti’ song launch on December 18. The police department has assigned three teams to nab the culprits in the case and the teams have nabbed 3 accused in connection with the case.

A search is being conducted by the Vijayanagar district SP and Hospet DSP and other police personnel to nab the culprits as soon as possible.

On December 18, Darshan and the ‘Kranti’ team were promoting the film in Hospete by launching the second song of the film. Actress Rachita Ram was also on the stage next to Darshan. During the promotions, some miscreants took the opportunity to oppose Darshan by throwing a slipper at him and Darshan immediately took control of the situation pacifying the miscreants by saying, “Aythu chinna” (Alright dear) which lead to bringing the situation to normalcy.

After the incident, fans of Darshan across Karnataka were outraged seeing the visuals of the slipper being thrown at him and protested across Karnataka to nab the culprit. Some of the politicians and the Kannada Film Industry came in full support of Darshan to condemn the incident strongly and pledge their support to Darshan. Darshan fans and pro-Kannada activists across Karnataka protested severely, appealing to the Police department to arrest the culprits and see that such acts don’t repeat.

Some unconfirmed reports allege that Hospet culprits are Puneeth Rajkumar fans and these attacks are part of the ongoing war between the two fan groups. Soon after the attack on Darshan broke, social media became a war zone for Darshan and Puneeth Rajkumar fans to wage a war of trolls and abuses.
