THIS actor was cast for ‘Karan Arjun’ before Salman Khan, reveals Rakesh Roshan – Times of India

The audience has been talking about ‘Karan Arjun’ quite a bit lately, as Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan reunited for ‘Pathaan’ after the 1995 film. The film directed was directed by Rakesh Roshan was a huge hit, but Salman Khan wasn’t the first choice for the role. In a recent interview, Roshan revealed that another actor was cast for the film.

The filmmaker revealed on a musical reality show, ‘Indian Idol’ on television that Ajay Devgn was originally cast for ‘Karan Arjun’, and the film was titled ‘Kaynaat’. But Devgn couldn’t do the film due to some reasons. Later, Salman came on board.

Now that would have been quite a treat as SRK and Ajay have never shared screen space together.
The director also spoke about Hrithik Roshan’s debut film, ‘Kaho Na…Pyaar Hai’ and said that initially Kareena Kapoor Khan was signed for the role. But even she couldn’t do the film for some reason and Ameesha Patel was brought on board.
Salman and SRK both played double roles in the film. While Salman played Karan, the name of his other character was Ajay. The film also starred Kajol, Mamta Kulkarni and veteran actress Rakhee.

Fans were indeed in for a treat as both these superstars re-united on-screen after more than 25 years. The duo will reportedly share screen space in ‘Tiger 3’ as well and will shoot for this big sequence in April.
