The Runways Have Spoken! Everyday Dressing and Laidback Luxury Are In

Fashion month has officially come to an end—and as we continue to sift through the fall 2023 shows, there’s one reigning trend that we can’t help but notice: everyday dressing. It’s as if the designers created their new collections with the modern woman top of mind—a true representation of how she really likes to dress and on an everyday basis. These chic, yet casual outfits were centered around a solid foundation of wardrobe essentials, like timeless trench coats, menswear-inspired tailoring, and a perfect pair of leggings or two. This fuss-free fashion formula is one we’ve also seen modeled on the street style as of late, and clearly, the runways have now followed suit. 

At Milan Fashion Week, Gucci showed only its second collection since former creative director Alessandro Michele’s departure from the brand. Down the runway came looks that exuded elegance and ease—think oversized blazers paired with baggy jeans and sleek shirting styled with penny loafers. To our benefit, these everyday outfit formulas are almost too easy to replicate. Plus, you probably already have a few of these pieces tucked away in your drawers already. At Miu Miu FW23, model off-duty style was on full display. The pièce de résistance, however, was a pair of slate gray leggings that came layered below a roomy pea coat, a cozy cashmere crewneck, and a zip-up hoodie. You’ve heard it here first folks, this is your new weekend wardrobe. Tory Burch’s FW23 collection was more tailored than ever before and the look on everyone’s hearts and minds starred a cherry-red sweater that popped the perfect amount of color. Styled over a crisp striped button-up and pleated pants, the end result requires your recreation. And because it is fashion we’re obsessed with, after all, there are still those culty, yet classic buys we can never seem to resist–whether it’s a jean midi skirt as seen at Victoria Beckham or Bottega Veneta’s on-trend tank top.
