The results are in! Meet the next generation of artists chosen from our “Global Open Call: The Next Great Fashion Image Makers” that will be featured at the 2022 PhotoVogue Festival

Today, we are thrilled to reveal the 40 selected artists of our first Global Open Call: The Next Great Fashion Image Makers. Elected by our international jury composed of Condé Nast staff from all over the world along with experts from the broader international visual community, the artists will be part of the main exhibition at the next edition of PhotoVogue Festival in Milan that will run from the 17th until the 20th of November of 2022.

Our first Global Open Call, endorsed by all the editions of Vogue globally, has focused on finding the most talented fashion image makers in the world and giving them the opportunity to emerge and work within the Condé Nast Global Network. We received over 30,000 images by 3.000 artists from 121 different countries.

The sheer number and variety of submissions highlights PhotoVogue’s mission of an inclusive and diverse space for all visual aesthetics, from realist to fantastic, from documentary-inspired to glam and dreamy.

Each of 25 global editions of Vogue depicts a distinct aesthetic and style, and they are all united in pursuing excellence while creating timeless fashion images. Respecting this diversity and working toward a common goal is how Vogue has secured a pioneering role globally in the photography and visual world. The results of this first Global Open Call are an ode to both our differences and commonalities in the approach to fashion image making.

With this Open Call, we looked for visions that push the boundaries of the current fashion landscape. We wanted to highlight the next generation of socially conscious fashion image makers, artists who are a driving force for change and whose work can engage in a dialogue with different genres, from documentary to art. We sought out artists who are able to tackle issues relating to social justice and sustainability in powerful and vibrant images and films. Fashion has become a shared language and one of the primary tools to build identity at Vogue and through its photography and stories it’s always tackled the intersection of culture and sociopolitical issues by raising questions, embracing innovation, and influencing change. The Vogue community remains committed to paving the way for the new generation of fashion image makers.
