The Peltz-Beckhams’ first red-carpet moment as a married couple was always going to be one that got the paparazzi cameras flashing, and Nicola and Brooklyn looked every inch the happy newlyweds at the Met Gala 2022. Having dressed to the nines in black tie mere weeks ago for their Palm Beach wedding, the young lovers looked at ease in their finery on fashion’s big night.

How did the pair approach this year’s gilded glamour theme? Peltz, a modern Valentino bride who walked down the aisle in haute couture, naturally looked to Pierpaolo Piccioli again for her turn on the Met Gala red carpet, alongside the likes of Kim Kardashian and Billie Eilish. The quintessential Valentino dress echoed the craftsmanship of Nicola’s wedding dress and complemented the style of the actor who, although a minimalist at heart, loves supermodel glamour and eveningwear that has a soupçon of ’90s Claudia Schiffer about it.

For Brooklyn, it was classic-with-a-twist as per. (This is the man who wore Dior Birkenstocks during his Miami wedding celebrations.) Beckham chose pristine tailoring also by Piccioli to match his new wife. Although it would have been sweet – and more sustainable! – to give his Dior wedding suit another airing, you can’t blame him for seeking out newness on a night surrounded by the most powerful players in the industry.
