The Logo-fied Loafer Is the Designer Shoe Trend You Can’t Miss

There’s no denying that the loafer has become more impactful in our wardrobe than ever. From chunky soles to traditional penny silhouettes, designer loafers have a well-earned place in our daily shoe rotations and have become a best-selling style because of it. And although there are plenty of iterations of the classic footwear, the most recent micro-trend among the loafer is the logo-fied version. Instead of symbols that represent the brand’s house, like a horsebit or identifiable link buckle, luxury designers are now offering loafers with more, might we say, direct messaging.
Whether the brand name is spelled out across the top of the shoe in hardware (as with Gucci’s in-demand style) or it’s the brand’s logo or initial (see Valentino), there’s something timelessly charming about them. Conspicuously logoed and recognizable designer pieces are all around us—think sweatshirts, scarves, handbags, and even snow boots—so it’s no surprise designer emblems have found themselves atop more refined items, such as the loafer. And when situated alongside hardware, buckles, tassels, and other adornments, these logos are welcomed additions.
