The Downtown Set Gathered for a Maison Margiela x Chloe Sevigny Dinner Ahead of NYFW
On the eve of New York Fashion Week, artists and muses gathered at the Maison Margiela SoHo flagship to attend an intimate dinner full of reverie and irreverence.
Actress and downtown darling Chloë Sevigny hosted alongside Laura Dubin-Wander, the North American CEO of OBT Group, who greeted guests upon arrival. Handsome waiters circulated the room with flutes of Champagne. Thanks to Michael Collins, rows of ranunculus, poppies, and peonies spilled across the table. Towering tapers cast the room in a romantic glow.
An eclectic guest list yielded energetic conversations, which zig-zagged from culture to politics, art to fashion. Dev Hynes caught up with filmmaker Hailey Benton-Gates and stylist Haley Wollens. Artists Raul de Nieves and Clarissa Ebigwu chatted with novelist Fiona Duncan. Sarah Hoover, Tina Leung, Ezra William, and other members of New York’s glittering set swapped show schedules.
Despite the many raconteurs in attendance, the most popular guest was a plus-one: the puppy that squirmed on SoiL Thornton’s lap. Throughout the night, she was rarely without an admirer.
John Galliano’s latest creations hung around the store. From now until February 20, a portion of the proceeds from purchases made at the Crosby Street store will benefit Hetrick-Martin Institute. The Manhattan-based center, founded in 1979, provides a safe environment for LGBTQ youth.
