The Cambridge Kids Go Back to School in a Series of Adorable New Photos

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are all ready to start their new school after moving from London to Windsor.

Ahead of the first day of classes on September 8, the Cambridge children visited Lambrook School in Berkshire for a tour of campus and a meeting with the headmaster. It marks the first time all three will attend the same educational facility together. (Prince Louis is in pre-prep, Princess Charlotte is in third grade, and Prince George is in fifth.)

The entire family, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, held hands as they walked to the entrance. The children all wore the school’s warm weather uniform: Prince George and Prince Louis in matching white polos and navy blue shorts, and Charlotte in a blue gingham dress.

According to reports, Prince William told the Lambrook headmaster that his three children are eager for their first day: “They’re looking forward to it. They have lots of questions.”

The school is a mere 15-minute drive from their new home of Adelaide Cottage, on the grounds of Windsor Castle. It’s reported that a desire to raise their children in the relative privacy of suburbia was a catalyst for the Cambridge family’s decision to leave London. Lambrook, which sits upon 50 idyllic acres, certainly fits that criteria.

Plus, Lambrook has taught royal pupils before: Founded in 1860, two grandsons of Queen Victoria, Prince Christian Victor and Prince Albert, were both pupils at the school. Queen Victoria used to travel from Windsor Castle to watch their plays—and now, centuries later, it seems Prince William and Kate Middleton will follow suit.
