The Batman box office collection early estimate: Robert Pattinson starrer records third-highest advance bookings post the pandemic – Times of India

Robert Pattinson’s turn as ‘The Batman’ is receiving a good reception in India. The Hollywood superhero film that is facing stiff competition by various Indian film releases is reportedly maintaining a steady hold over the ticket windows.

The film that among the first few major Hollywood releases after the phenomenal success of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, has recorded an estimated Rs 5 crore in advance bookings, which is said to be the third-highest pos-pandemic record, states a report on boxofficeindia.com.

This film has seen good advances at multiplexes and should take a good opening weekend. Although the numbers are nothing like ‘No Way Home’, the film has secured a spot in the top three.

According to the report, Tom Holland’s ‘No Way Home’ earned around Rs 35 crore nett in terms of advance while the Ranveer Singh starrer ’83’ earned around Rs 10 crore nett over the extended Christmas weekend. ‘The Batman’ has so far earned around Rs 5 crore nett, which has secured it a spot above recent Bollywood film releases.

While ‘The Batman’ has taken off to a flying start, it remains to be seen if the good reviews and buzz help the film sail through to record a successful run. It has been noted that although English film releases have higher advanced bookings, Hindi films usually catch up with their daily trend.

Rob’s Batman will go up against Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Jhund’ at the box office this weekend.

Meanwhile, on the international front, the Matt Reeves film is poised to deliver the second-best opening of the pandemic era. The film is estimated to make between $100 million and $125 million in its opening weekend.

Budgeted at a reported $200 million, the film also stars Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright. It tells the story about Bruce Wayne’s early days as the crime-fighting vigilante.
