Clearly, Texas football head coach Steve Sarkisian sees Ryan Day’s Ohio State football program as as target, as he just got former Buckeyes commit Terrance Brooks to flip on Early Signing Day.
This comes off Texas winning the Quinn Ewers sweepstakes, as the former Ohio State quarterback entered the transfer portal earlier in December. Though the Longhorns still have a ways to go to get back towards being a competitive football team, getting players to leave Columbus for Austin is certainly a step in the right direction. If Ohio State wants a player, that means he is really good.
Brooks is a four-star cornerback from Little Elm, Texas, so him flipping does make a lot of sense.

While Sarkisian’s first season in Austin was a disaster, he has no excuses to not having the Longhorns back to being a competitive team in year two. No, we are not talking about Texas winning the Big 12, but this team should achieve bowl eligibility and possibly get to 8-4 if Ewers is as good as advertised. As far as what Brooks brings to the table, he could be in line to play early.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Brooks is the No. 59 player in the 2022 recruiting class, the No. 8 cornerback in the country and the No. 10 player in Texas. Simply put, a top 10 player in The Lone Star State should stay in Texas. As to if he is committing to play for the Longhorns or the Texas A&M Aggies, that is up for debate. What isn’t is Texas just got a big time playmaker to flip.
Sarkisian may never become an elite head coach, but he and his staff sure know how to recruit.
