Telangana CM KCR heads to Maharashtra amid slew of defections
Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao headed to Solapur in Maharashtra on Monday alongside cabinet ministers and party leaders. The development came even as more than a dozen 12 former ministers, MLAs joined the Congress on Monday afternoon. With Assembly elections due in the western state next year, the BRS is looking to make inroads into Maharashtra.
KCR arrived in Omerga in Osmanabad district on Monday before leaving for Solapur. He will visit the Pandharpur and Tuljapur temple towns on Tuesday as well as also attending a locally arranged programme in Sarkoli village of Solapur.
KCR recently held rallies in parts of Maharashtra, mostly in Nanded, where he slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government at the Centre and the one in Maharashtra led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for neglecting farmers and the downtrodden.
