Team India is consolidating its first innings on the third day of the first pink-ball day and night One-off Test match being played between India and Australia women at the Carrara Oval in Queensland, Australia today. India were 359 for the loss of 7 wickets when the reports last came in.

Earlier, in a historic moment in women’s cricket, Smriti Mandhana became first Indian women to score a Test hundred on Australian soil. Continuing her masterclass batting streak, she scored 127 runs with 22 fours and a six. With this, she created yet another record of the highest score for a visiting player in women’s Tests in Australia. The previous highest score was Molly Hide’s unbeaten 124, for England, in Sydney in 1949.

Put into bat, India women were off to a solid start with both openers Mandhana and Shafali Verma scored together a 93-run partnership. Punam Raut scored 36 runs, Shafali made 31 while Skipper Mithali Raj contributed 30 runs in the Indian innings.

For the hosts, Sophie Molineux scalped two while Ashleigh Gardner and Ellyse Perry took one wicket each.
