Tamannaah Bhatia opens up about being judged morally for doing intimate scenes: People said, ‘Kya majboori thi ki ye aise scenes kar rahi hai’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India
In a new interview with Barkha Dutt for Mojo Story, Tamannaah responded to the criticism and said that she was shocked to witness that kind of mindset in 2023 as well. She further said that when it comes to intimacy or playing abusive characters, male actors often get all the claps and cheers and they become superstars but when a female actor does the same, she becomes a bad character.
She mentioned that she has been doing roles that were glamorous since the beginning of her career. She said that she could have stayed in her comfort zone and would have done the typical commercial roles but she wanted to grow as an actor. She also added that the kind of content the Indian cinema is producing now is being watched all across the globe. When she was asked about the misogynist comment that she read about herself, Tamanaah replied saying, “Kya majboori thi ki ye aise scenes kar rahi hai. I found that really strange because as an actor if I play a serial killer, would I become that?”
When asked about being judged morally for playing a sexual character on-screen, Tamannaah also talked about her no-kissing policy. She said that she was 14 years old when started working in the entertainment industry. She revealed that she made a promise to her parents that she will not do something that makes them uncomfortable.
She further said that she did not anticipate she would have to face this level of misogyny for doing intimacy on the screen. She felt worried and also sad about the fact that several media portals highlighted that particular section of trolls, which makes it even more bigger and it becomes a news to everyone.
