Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon come together for Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor’s ‘The Crew’ – Times of India
In an interview with a news portal, Rhea spoke about the box office collection of ‘Veere Di Wedding’. According to her, she didn’t expect the film to do the numbers it did at the box office. The producer also added that she underestimated the power of the female audience because the film had the largest opening for a female protagonist film ever.
Elaborating further, Rhea added that she doesn’t see a reason why a movie made for a female audience cannot open on a big holiday. Her aim was that now that this audience has found their films and they have found our audience, she wants to create something that gets them excited, makes them feel like they are being represented, and gives them a big entertaining movie on a holiday just like the boys always have. That’s how this movie’s idea germinated, Rhea told Pinkvilla.
Ekta also added that Tabu, Kareena and Kriti, all of them, have a distinct charm that they bring onto the screen. According to her, their acting prowess and captivating enigma have made them the leading ladies in their era of Bollywood. Each one of them has ruled in their decade and continues to wow audiences. Ekta also went on to add that it could have been none other than these three as the protagonists of ‘The Crew’. This is a dream ensemble, and they couldn’t have been more excited.
‘The Crew’ is reportedly set against the backdrop of the airline industry.
