Taapsee Pannu recently revealed in an interview, that she was rejected for shooting as a saree model by a renowned fashion designer, Satya Paul. He rejected Taapsee because they were looking for a model who looked like a woman. At that time Taapsee had just begun her modelling career and was studying in second year of engineering.

Satya did not approve of Taapsee at the time because she looked too young for a saree ad. The actress revealed this when the media house questioned her if she had ever shot for a saree brand. Just a month before appearing for Satya Paul’s saree shoot, Taapsee had got her portfolio done from a studio in Noida by spending Rs 40,000 from her savings on it.

Then Taapsee received modelling assignments for two ads, and was paid Rs 4000-5000 for each ad. Taapsee said that she used to get offers for doing ads in various clothing brands or similar brands at the time.

She started her modelling career while she was studying in the second year of engineering. The actress said she started modelling in her college days because she wanted to spend money according to her own way.
