Taapsee Pannu opens up about bagging Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’; says she wanted to spend time with Shah Rukh Khan off-screen – Times of India
Sharing her excitement, Taapsee told a news portal that it is probably the biggest ever film she could have got. The actress feels that it is too good to be true. The actress stated that she never thought she would reach this so soon in her career. Taapsee also revealed that she wasn’t announcing it herself or talking about it because she didn’t want to jinx it in any way.
Elaborating further, Taapsee added that she was in disbelief till she reached the set on the first day of the shoot and finished it. Even her sister Shagun Pannu kept asking the actress if she was still part of the movie. The actress also revealed that her parents, however, didn’t give her any noticeable reaction because, according to her, they’ve also understood that there should be no celebrations till the time it happens.
When asked what was a bigger joy — being directed by Hirani or sharing the screen with Khan, the actress replied by saying that both are in different ways. According to Taapsee, films are a director’s medium and as she is not a very trained actor, she gets very excited to know who’s going to direct her.
With Shah Rukh sir, what she was most looking forward to was spending time with him off-screen, where she can just sit and chat with him because she loves his personality beyond his films as well — the wit, the humour, the experience that he has, and the honesty with which he narrates his experiences. The actress added that she wanted to hear those experiences that he’s gone through in those decades of creating what he has created.
