Swara Bhasker and Fahad Ahmad’s wedding festivity began in Delhi with traditional functions and concluded in Bareilly, with a Walima. The traditional post-wedding reception was hosted at political activist Fahad’s hometown Bareilly. Close friends and family members of Fahan turned up for this grand event. Swara decked up in a stunning gold lehenga by a Pakistani designer and completed her look with a tradtiional nose ring and matha patti. Fahad twinned with her in a gold sherwani.
Swara Bhasker and Fahad had a registered marriage last month in Mumbai and decided to skip a traditional wedding ceremony or nikaah. However, the couple hosted wedding functions like haldi, mehendi, Carnatic musical evening, sangeet, qawwali night and reception at Swara’s nana’s farmhouse in Delhi.

Speaking about their bond, Swara told BT, “Every time I was feeling bad, I’d call him. Around that time, I was also going through some medical procedures and was on bedrest. He would call me every day and meet me, cheer me up and I was very touched by that. And then my cat, who I had rescued, died. Yeh ek aur billi le aaya, Ghalib. He had rescued him and because he was going somewhere, he asked if I could foster him. Toh phir uss Ghalib se new bonding ho gayi. We started talking every day, I was always on the phone, messaging with him. But he was always respectful, never tried to make a move and I felt very safe with him.”
