Sutapa Sikdar opens up about losing Irrfan Khan; says she had forgotten how to live without him – Times of India

In what can be rightly termed as one of the biggest losses of the Indian film industry, we lost Irrfan Khan in 2020. The actor went to his heavenly abode after a long battle with cancer.

Two years after his sudden demise, his wife Sutapa Sikdar opened up for the first time about losing her husband. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, the late actor’s wife shared that she did not have the courage to face this world after his demise. According to her, she has been with Irrfan for as long as she can remember and she had almost forgotten how to live without him. However, she picked herself up for the sake of her kids Babil and Ayan by keeping things normal at home and trying to socialise again.

Sutapa also recalled going through his medical files every night, trying to figure out if she did something wrong. She went on to add that she was with him day, night and evening.

After being together with each other for a long time, Sutapa and Irrfan got married in 1995. The couple has two boys – Babil and Ayan.

Irrfan was last seen in ‘Angrezi Medium’ which also starred Radhika Madan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepak Dobriyal and Pankaj Tripathi in key roles. Now, his elder son Babil is gearing up for his big Bollywood debut. He will be seen in an Anushka Sharma production titled, ‘Qala’ which also stars Tripti Dimri in the lead role.
