Sushmita Sen shocked one and all after she announced that she suffered from a heart attack and underwent an angioplasty in March this year. The actress opened up about the same for the first time in an interview.

The former Miss Universe winner revealed that the health condition brought about a change in her and that she has chosen to take it in stride and look at life with a whole new perspective.

According to her, it was a phase and it passed. She is very lucky to be on the other side.Elaborating further, Sushmita added that while it has made her more responsible, she has now learnt to value her life a lot more. When you get a new lease on life, you respect it and are more careful, she told News18.
The actress was shooting for the third season of her popular series ‘Aarya’ when she suffered from a heart attack. She underwent angioplasty and had a stent placed in her heart. The actress soon resumed her work after treatment and even completed the shoot of her web series.

She also recently unveiled the teaser of her upcoming film, ‘Taali‘ where she will be seen essaying the role of transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant. Spilling some beans on the same, she said playing the character was very empowering. The actress added that she is hoping that the honesty with which she has tried to portray the story of Gauri Sawant’s life, that honesty comes through, because it’s a tribute more than a performance, not just to her but to the whole community.
The film will start streaming on an OTT platform from August 15, 2023.
