WWE’s comeback to India marked a significant milestone, as the last live event hosted in the country occurred in 2017 in Delhi. This time, the electrifying event unfolded within the G.M.C. Balayogi Indoor Stadium, Gachibowli, Hyderabad.
India has played a crucial role in producing wrestling talents for WWE, with the legendary Great Khali standing out as a World Champion who faced off against WWE Hall of Famer, The Undertaker. Jinder Mahal, another Indian sensation, took part in the card and previously headlined a show in Delhi. He, too, went on to become a World Champion, engaging in memorable battles with superstars like Drew McIntyre.
Among the emerging Indian talents aiming to make their mark within WWE is the formidable tag team, Indus Sher, managed by none other than Jinder Mahal himself, consisting of Veer Mahan and Sangha. Another rising star, Dilsher Shanky, previously featured in the 2021 Superstar Spectacle and triumphed in an eight-man tag-team match alongside Rey Mysterio, Ricochet, and others.
One of the evening’s highlights saw fan-favorite John Cena joining forces with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. Together, they faced off against Imperium’s formidable duo, Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci, leaving the fans on a euphoric note with a resounding victory.
Meanwhile, Rhea Ripley successfully defended her Women’s World Championship belt against Natalya, who earned her title shot by defeating Zoe Stark earlier in the event.
