Music was the heartbeat of the original and our idea is to ensure that the audience does not go home disappointed with the sequel. They should feel as close to this story as they felt with the original. We don’t ever wish to spoil the legacy of the original. The original, directed by Anil Sharma, also featured Amrish Puri as the antagonist and revolved around a couple separated by borders and politics between the newly-independent India and Pakistan. The sequel, being shot at locations in Himachal Pradesh among others, reportedly picks up from the point when the couple is reunited and returns home in India.
