Sunil Lahri feels Ranbir Kapoor is a very good choice for Ram but not sure if Alia Bhatt would do justice to Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Sunil Lahri, who played the role of Lakshman in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan, was very disappointed when he watched director Om Raut’s Adipurush, based on Ramayana. He has now shared his opinion on director Nitesh Tiwari‘s Ramayana with Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
When Sunil was asked if he was convinced with the choice of the cast, he told a news portal that both Alia and Ranbir are good actors and he thinks that they will do justice to the subject.
He feels that Ranbir is a very good choice for the role of Lord Ram and can deliver a good performance. Alia too is talented but Sunil feels that she would have done more justice to the character if she had done the role of Sita 5 year earlier.
In his personal opinion, Sunil feels that Alia has changed over the last few years and he is not sure how convincing Alia will look as Sita now.

While Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan will continue to be evergreen as the show is all set to be telecasted again, new versions of Ramayana will keep coming up. When he was asked what advice he would like to give to those who wish to make it again, Sunil said that they should not change the base, adding that the treatment of the Ramayana should be decent and respectful.
He further said that Ramayana cannot be experimented with while making a new version. The language, the depiction of the characters and the scenes need to be in sync with the epic. The characters should be well-defined.
