Google CEO Sundar Pichai tweeted about the collaboration product the company built with Reliance Jio. The phone is powered by Pragati OS, an optimised version of Android which is specially made for it. The JioPhone Next comes powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 processor and is expected to feature a 5.5-inch display. It will have a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera for selfies. There will be a dedicated SD card along with a 3.5mm audio jack. Here’s what the Indian-origin CEO said about the phone, which is set to launch soon.
“Voice-first features, language translation + a smart camera – we built the Jio Phone Next in deep collaboration with @reliancejio to meet India’s unique needs & languages. Excited to see this device help more Indians access the internet through a smartphone”

Jio Phone Next: Price, availability
Users will have to pay an entry price of Rs 1,999 and the rest paid via easy EMI over 18/24 months. Or the buyer will have the choice to pay Rs 6,499 upfront to buy the phone. The company said that it is introducing a “unique financing option” making it accessible for a much wider set of consumers. JioPhone Next will be available across the country at Reliance Retail’s network of JioMart Digital retail locations.
JioPhone Next will be available for purchase starting November 4 on Diwali, Reliance Jio and Google have announced. The phone was delayed due to the global chip shortage but all seem ready for the buyers within the next few days.
Jio is offering several plans for those who want to buy the JioPhone Next. There are four plans which will be available for buyers: Always On Plan, Large Plan, XL Plan and XXL Plan, about which you can read here.
