Subhash Chandra Kumar Bose’s grandnephew urges PM to convert four coaches of a train into a mobile museum

In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Netaji Subhash Chandra Kumar Bose’s grandnephew Chandra Kumar Bose has urged the PM to convert four coaches of a train into a mobile museum to house information about Netaji.

He believes that this initiative should be a part of the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Chandra Kumar Bose has also sent a written proposal to the Prime Minister to launch the train in October from Cuttack as the iconic leader and freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was born there.

Bose has chalked out an outline plan in which the first coach can have audio-visuals on Netaji in different languages. The second coach should have an interactive classroom with Netaji’s photographs and other items. Depiction of how the Indian Railways have assisted the revolutionary freedom fighters to travel across the country can be the theme of the third coach while the fourth one can be kept for transport support personnel.

“This initiative was taken during the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The innovative concept of turning some compartments into railway museums for people who have made a difference in history, is pretty well known overseas” Chandra Kumar Bose said.

Netaji kin Chandra Kumar Bose claimed that he had written a letter to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in August on this matter but has yet to receive a response.

“This kind of museum can be of immense help to the students and encourage the students and common people to learn more about Netaji,” said Bose.

Chandra Bose also took to Twitter and wrote, “Celebrating Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s 125th birth anniversary, convert a train into a mobile museum for people across the nation to know about the contribution of the Indian National Army. Jai Hind! and claimed that it is a mobile museum for people across the country to learn about the Indian National Army’s contribution.”

Bose elaborated that there is one museum on works of Netaji in Red Fort and there are two in Kolkata- in Victoria Memorial and other in Netaji Bhawan.
