#StylishSunday: Kalyani Priyadarshan’s pleated shirt dress to Esther Anil’s flared leather pants – the best fashion moments from M-Town – Times of India
With Angelina Jolie gracing the red carpet for the premiere of her film, ‘Eternals’ decked up in an olive structural draped corset and pant ensemble accessorized with the statement ‘chin cuff’, to Elle Fanning’s jaw-dropping appearance at the 6th Annual InStyle Awards in a Balmain bejeweled chain link top, we saw some awe-inspiring looks for Fall 2021.
From breastplates to statement chin cuffs, the fashion industry is witnessing an iteration of trends, but is the South-Western State of India – Kerala, its entertainment industry, and the stars keeping up with the trends?
ETimes presents #StylishSunday, a segment where we make an effort to compile and rank the best fashion moments of the week from M-Town.
Kalyani Priyadarshan
Kalyani Priyadarshan was on a promotional spree for her latest release ‘Maanaadu’ this week, and this look, in particular, made it to the top of our list for all the right reasons. She is wearing a pleated shirt dress with a statement overlapping shoulder. The chic panel details on the dress cinch her in all the right places and thereby giving a structured yet flowy look to the outfit. The shirt dress is surely an arsenal for the fall wardrobe, especially if you want to be comfy and elegant. Kalyani accessorized the Rs. 24,900 dress with chunky hoop earrings and went for a fresh no-makeup look and kohled eyes. The soft wavy side-parted hair and the transparent block heels elevated the whole ensemble.
Sunny Leone
The ‘Shero’ actress Sunny Leone stuck to her personal style of comfy and high street fashion this week. The diva was strolling in Dubai and this travel ensemble caught our eye. Sunny Leone is wearing a three-piece ensemble, consisting of a ribbed high-neck top with cutout, a statement acid-washed denim jacket, and high-waist pants with flap pockets. The solid ribbed top is a basic piece in every woman’s closet, however, the tie-dye pants in pink and white hues, and the statement skirt-like flap pockets cost around Rs. 20,000 is the showstopper. The jacket with a statement painting and the quotes that read, “Well behaved women rarely make history” binds the whole outfit together. Sunny chose a simple short straightened hair, as a lot is happening on the outfit and the look is perfect.
Esther Anil
Flared outfits had an iteration for the Paris Fashion Week SS21, and they are back in style now. And M-Town’s young talent Esther Anil aced it to perfection the past week. While promoting her latest release ‘Drushyam’ in Hyderabad, the beauty was seen sporting high waist flared leather pants with a fitted crop tank top. The interesting front pocket detail of the pants made it stand out and the high waist gave an elongated illusion to her legs. The flared pants with a form-fitting top were a match made in heaven and the clean bun hair and the illuminating makeup made the outfit shine. The interlinked chunky gold necklace too grabbed eyeballs and we are all hearts for Esther Anil’s look.
Neha Sharma
Birthday girl Neha Sharma jetted off to the US to celebrate her special day. The ‘Solo’ actress fulfilled our fashion appetite, as she went for a late-night dinner with her dearies. Neha Sharma made all our fashion dreams come true as she slipped into a leather slip dress. Leather slip dresses are a staple in the Fall/Winter wardrobe and Neha Sharma aced it with sheer perfection. The thigh-high slit of the black dress also gave her the glam she wanted and Neha paired it with a cropped leather jacket with fur collar and sleeve lining. The wavy hair and the dewy makeup with shimmery eyes worked well together. She added a quilted sling bag in teal hue to complete the look and we are totally digging it!
Aditi Rao Hydari
Aditi Rao Hydari is a woman of blue blood and she surely knows how to carry the regalness. The ‘Sufiyum Sujathayum’ actress was on the guestlist of a Chandigarh wedding and she graced the ceremony with timeless elegance. The actress wore a mix and match lehenga to the event. She teamed the heavily brocade pink blouse with a plunging neckline, with a white lehenga that has a uniform polka dot brocade detail and a crushed dupatta. Adding a statement choker and matching earrings, Aditi went for her personal style of subtle makeup. The sleek middle-parted hair was secured into a bun and we totally approve of the wedding guest look.
That’s all for today, fashionistas. Meet you all in the next episode of #StylishSunday. Until then, stay stylish and stunning!
