Following their Game 5 collapse, the Colorado Avalanche will take their second crack at putting away the St. Louis Blues tonight in the lone game in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Back on Wednesday night in Denver, the Blues erased 3-1 and 4-3 deficits before Tyler Bozak netted the OT winner to stave off elimination. Of course, the Avalanche are looking to eliminate the Blues for the second straight season and advance to the Conference Finals for the first time in 20 years.
With that in mind, here are some prop bets to consider:
PROP 1: Nathan MacKinnon Over 1.5 Points (+160) + Over 4.5 SOG (-140)
In case you missed it, MacKinnon was unbelievable in Game 5, notching a hat trick and adding an assist. On top of that, he mustered six shots on goal to clear the 4.5 number for the first time in three games. After that performance, how can we not expect an encore tonight, especially considering what’s at stake for the Avalanche. I’m expecting an inspired MacKinnon once again.
PROP 2: Cale Makar Over 0.5 Assists (-140)
By his standards, through five games, Makar has been quiet offensively. That said, the phenom has tallied an assist in three straight outings, which obviously is excellent news if you’re on this prop. Meantime, Colorado’s power play is just 2-for-12 in the series, which depending on how you look at things, means they’re due. Makar runs PP1; connect the dots.
PROP 3: Vladimir Tarasenko Over 2.5 SOG (-160)
The sniper notched one goal and one assist in the Game 5 thriller, something the Blues will unequivocally need more of tonight. At the very least, Tarasenko’s been firing the puck much more consistently lately. Over his past three outings, he’s tallied a total of 12 shots (6,1,5) on goal, an average of four a game. Let’s hope for a motivated Tarasenko tonight!
