It’s Friday. You know what that means. More Stanley Cup Playoff action ahead.
And it’s a crucial night at that, with a four-pack of Game 3s. The Leafs and Oilers hit the road with aspirations of grabbing a 2-1 series lead. Meantime, the Wild and Blues will try to do the same as they collide in St. Louis while Carolina looks to grab a 3-0 series stranglehold in Boston.
Let’s finish the work week off in style, here’s some prop bets to consider:
PROP #1: Steven Stamkos Anytime Goal (+180)
After scoring 42 goals in the regular season, Stamkos hasn’t scored through the first two games of Tampa’s series with Toronto. Simply put, he’s due, and with the Lightning back on home ice, Game 3 could be the night for the Markham, Ont., native to finally strike. Furthermore, the Bolts captain has 32 goals in 96 career playoff games.
PROP #2: Zach Hyman Over 0.5 Points (-120)
Simply put, the Kings are a perfect opponent for Hyman. He loves to muck and grind, and so do they. Through his first two playoff games as an Oiler, however, the 29-year-old has been held pointless with six shots on goal. After Edmonton won Game 2 decisively, it’s fair to expect a much tighter game Friday. Enter Hyman. Not only I do like his point prop, but I like his shot prop (O2.5) too.
PROP #3: Anthony DeAngelo Over 0.5 Assists (+140)
Through two games in this lopsided series, DeAngelo has tallied four helpers. In addition to that, he picked up a goal and three assists for four points in three games against Boston in the regular season. Furthermore, the Canes are 6-0-0 against the Bruins this season, outscoring them 26-4. Back on home ice, I expect Boston to be better Friday, but without Hampus Lindholm now too, I’m not sure I like their chances of slowing down Carolina’s red-hot offence.
PROP #4: Kevin Fiala Over 0.5 Points (-160)
It’s been a quiet first two games – pointless – for Fiala following a torrid second half of the regular season. The 25-year-old finished with a career-high 85 points, so it’s inevitable that he starts to cook again soon. St. Louis won handily in Game 1; Minnesota returned the favour in Game 2. With the series now down to a best-of-five, I’d say now’s a pretty good time for Fiala to prove his worth. Don’t forget, he’ll be looking for a new contract this summer. The price is moderately steep for this play, but it’s worth it.
