Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse once again regains top position at the US box office, leaving The Flash far behind | English Movie News – Times of India

This month has seen a tremendous fight at the box office between Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and The Flash. Both were touted to hold sway at the box office, and it was a closely watched fight about who would emerge supreme. In between them, there was Elemental, a film by Pixar about five delightful elementary characters and an unexpected romance between two diametric opposites.
This week, Spider-Man has once again reclaimed its number one position in the box office rankings, edging past The Flash. The spider’s net has proved to be more resilient with ticket sales for Friday through Sunday recording $ 19.3 million for the weekend that has just gone by in US and Canadian theatres.
In contrast, Elemental was second with $ 18.4 million and The Flash was relegated to the third spot with $ 15.2 million. Surprisingly, just a notch behind The Flash was another Sony offering, No Hard Feelings, a comedy starring Jennifer Lawrence and Andrew Barth Feldman.
The most dramatic hit was taken by The Flash which had netted $ 55 million in its opening weekend, but has now dropped by 72 per cent to its current third position. Critics are putting it down to the adverse publicity that its star Ezra Miller has attracted from the media for his bizarre behaviour that has led to arrests and other episodes of bad behaviour. He has since been seeking treatment for his disorders.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse stars Shameik Moore and has reclaimed its top position once again in the fourth week in US theatres.
