Movie buffs of Telugu films are in for a double treat, as there are two big releases lined up for Navratri. ‘The Ghost’ directed by Praveen Sattaru featuring Akkineni Nagarjuna is set to release on October 5, and the pre-release event of the film was graced by the superstar’s children, ‘handsome sons’ if we may say so, Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni! While promoting his film, Akkineni Nagarjuna didn’t forget to cheer his friend Chiranjeevi, who also has a release – ‘God Father’ on October 5. A remake of the Malayalam film ‘Lucifer’, ‘God Father’ has Chiranjeevi, Salman Khan, and Nayanthara among others in lead roles.

Another update that came from Telugu cinema is rather surprising. ‘Prema Kadanta’ is now ‘Urvasivo Rakshasivo’. Yes, that’s right. Allu Sirish and Anu Emmanuel starrer film which was earlier titled ‘Prema Kadanta’ got a title change, and the film is now ‘Urvasivo Rakshasivo’. You will also get a glimpse of the film soon, as the teaser is releasing on September 29!

As mentioned earlier, your bee is happy to report that Mani Ratnam’s upcoming magnum opus ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ has got record pre-sales earnings! The advance bookings for the film opened on Sunday (Sep 25) and within a day’s time, the pre-sales earnings have reportedly grossed Rs 1 crore! In other news, from Kollywood, Ajith’s upcoming film ‘Thunivu’ has sold its OTT rights, even before its release! An OTT giant has bagged the streaming rights, which hints that we all are in for a treat!

Kannada movie industry, which is known for its potential content and talent, has good news! Veteran Kabir Bedi is marking his debut in Kannada with the upcoming film titled ‘Hunter – On Duty’. And the thespian is expected to join the team very soon.

Coming to the Malayalam movie industry, Monday was off to a gloomy start, as filmmaker Ashokan passed away. He breathed his last on Sunday (Sep 25), aged 60.
