Sourav Ganguly heaps praise on ‘very good actor’ Ranbir Kapoor; says ‘He has acting in his genes and in his blood’ – Times of India

Amidst rumours that Ranbir Kapoor is the front-runner to play cricketer Sourav Gangulyrav Ganguly in his upcoming biopic, the two stars met up for a game of cricket during a promotional event for ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’.
Ranbir and Sourav put on their jerseys and took to the Eden Gardens cricket pitch where they indulged in a friendly cricket match. While at the event, the Indian cricket legend heaped praise on Kapoor and his impressive filmography. “It’s not because you all are here and he is here that I have to say ‘he is good’. He is actually very good. I have seen every film of his, the last one was Brahmastra and I will see this one also,” Ganguly said and added, “Whatever he does, I wish him the best.”

He also praised the Kapoor family and said that they have ‘acting in their genes’. The cricketer said, “He comes from a very famous and talented family. His father, mother, himself, and now his wife is a fantastic actor and I was telling him that. Acting is in his genes and in his blood. Acting is not like a sport that you have to stop after a while, so he can go on acting and entertaining people around the world.”

He also picked his favourite RK films that included ‘Barfi’. Ganguly said, “I thought he was fantastic in it.”

He also picked Kapoor’s film with Deepika Padukone ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’. He said, “There are so many films that you forget the name, but you remember the film because of what Ranbir has done. I pray that this film is also liked by you. I don’t judge films by the numbers it makes at the box office and how many days it goes on. But I am sure with his acting and Shraddha Kapoor’s acting, you all will like it.”

While director Luv Ranjan’s rom-com ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ releases this weekend, Ranbir also has director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’ which is also gearing up for its release later this year.
