Sooraj Pancholi reacts to acquittal in Jiah Khan suicide case: The Truth Always Wins – Times of India

A special CBI court on Friday acquitted Sooraj Pancholi of all charges in the abetment of suicide case involving late actress Jiah Khan. The reason cited was “paucity of evidence”. The actor was spotted at the court with his mother Zarina Wahab.
Reacting to the acquittal, Sooraj instantly posted an Instagram story, hailing the truth. He wrote, “The Truth Always Wins #GodIsGreat” with folded hands and a heart emoji. ETimes has exclusively learnt that Sooraj will be heading to Siddhivinayak Temple after the final court proceedings are over.

Jiah Khan died by suicide on June 3, 2013 at her residence in Juhu. Soon after, Sooraj Pancholi was arrested under section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code. Reacting to Sooraj being acquitted in the case, Rabia told reporters outside the court, “The charge of abetment to suicide has gone. But how did my child die? This is a case of murder…will approach the high court.”
A few years ago, Sooraj had opened up about the Jiah Khan case and told ETimes, “No one understands that it was her decision to do that (commit suicide), you know, it was her choice. It was her mental state to do that. And I think to blame someone for it is really unfair. Because today what if I do that to myself? Who will get blamed? I would blame the media for it because they have put a lot of pressure on me writing false things about me but you can’t really blame things on other people. I think an individual has to be strong and more than a boyfriend support, they need family support and I don’t know why the family was not there for her.”
