Singer-composer Bhupinder Singh passed away in a Mumbai hospital on Monday evening after suffering a colon infection. He was 82. A prayer meet was held today, to pay homage to the artist.

A while ago, Sonu Nigam, Madhur Bhandarkar, and Poonam Dhillon were spotted at the prayer meet being held in the city. Johnny Lever’s wife Sujatha and their son were also seen at the venue.

The untimely demise of the singer came as a rude shock to the entire music and film fraternity. His voice brought joy to millions and had an uniqueness. Condolences to his family. RIP Bhupinder Ji. Shanti.”.

Earlier, fimmaker Rakesh Roshan’s brother, musician Rajesh Roshan shared fond memories of Bhupinder Singh and told ETimes, “He was one of the few singers who could put life into his songs. Very few singers can do that, but Bhupinder could always manage to do that. He sang many great songs for acclaimed music directors like SD Burman, RD Burman, Madan Mohan and even my father (music director Roshan) wanted to make him sing. He sang for me in the film Jay Vijay as well. I still listen to his song Do Deewane Shehar Mein and Hoke Majboor Mujhe. He used to be a very good guitarist. He used to play with SD Burman a lot. After SD da passed away, Bhupinder joined Pancham. I listen to Bhupinder’s songs on a daily basis. He was full of life. We will really miss him.”
