Sonam Kapoor reveals 90 percent of her clothes are borrowed! – Times of India

Sonam Kapoor made a glamorous appearance on Koffee With Karan 7 with brother Arjun Kapoor. Her pregnancy glow was hard to miss and what we did not miss was her chirpy, candid self on the couch that she carried in her previous appearances. The conversation began with her pregnancy and the Karan Johar steered towards the trend of fashion photography before events that was pioneered by Sonam.

KJo asked her what she thinks about the trend these days, whether people are trying too hard, or are the red carpet looks falling flat, or are the fashion photos getting a bit excessive now. Sonam then revealed how it all started. “The reason Rhea (Kapoor) and I decided to take photos was because we realised when we went to the red carpet, there was so much business behind us. And we were borrowing, most of my clothes are borrowed. 90 percent of my clothes are borrowed.”

When Karan sounded surprised, Sonam revealed, “They lend you clothes, we’re not buying.
Pagal thodi hain ke itne saare paise spend karein.

She continued, “We were like we need to give credit where due. The pure reason is because if somebody is lending me something, I want to make sure the person gets nice photos, the designer gets nice photos and we credit them. But now I don’t know if they are borrowing it or buying it and putting it up.”

When KJo asked what she thought of the Cannes Film Festival this year, Sonam revealed she got a lot of messages because she didn’t go to Cannes this year because of her pregnancy. “I don’t know if I was missed or not. Like I have been trolled for my sartorial choices before in Cannes. So who am I to say that how you’re dressing or who’s dresing what. May be people think my taste is bad.”

Karan and Sonam, however agreed that Deepika Padukone’s Cannes appearance was impressive this year.
