Sonakshi Sinha on playing a cop in ‘Dahaad’: When you were that uniform, aapki chaal badal jaati hai – Times of India

The much anticipated trailer of Sonakshi Sinha’s web series ‘Dahaad‘ was launched yesterday. The series also stars Gulshan Devaiah, Vijay Varma and Sohum Shah in key roles. The 8-part crime drama features Sonakshi in the role of a cop tasked with the investigation of a series of mysterious deaths of women in public bathrooms.
Speaking about playing a cop in Dahaad, Sonakshi Sinha said at the launch event, “I think I was born to play this character. I was just waiting for the character to come to me and it did. I just got into it without any hoo-haa. Honestly, when you were that uniform, aapki chaal badal jaati hai. I can’t tell you the power of that uniform. This is the first time I played a cop. I had to learn how to run a bike which I ended up loving so much.”
Gulshan Devaiah too leaves a mark in the trailer. On being asked about standing out with each of his roles, Gulshan Devaiah said, “I don’t try to stand out. I really don’t feel that way at all. Everything is about the story. One person cannot make the scene work. All of us behind and in front of the camera make a scene work. And don’t care to stand out. I just want to be as honest as possible and give my best. Of people think that my work is good then I’m very much grateful. I think the trick is to not try to stand out and work with your colleagues.”
Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar along with Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar, the series ‘Dahaad’ will premiere on May 12.
