Smriti Irani had told Sushant Singh Rajput ‘tum mat maarna apne aap ko’, says she called Amit Sadh after his death – Times of India
The actress revealed that she had told Sushant not to kill himself. In an interview with Neelesh Misra, she said, that the day Sushant died, she was in a video conference. There were many people there but she just couldn’t do it. So she said, ‘stop it.’ Smriti felt like why didn’t Sushant call her? He should have called her once. “I told that boy, ‘tum yaar apne aap ko maarna mat’,” said Smriti.
Later, Smriti called Amit Sadh immediately after hearing Sushant’s news because she was concerned about Amit. She added, “Instantly, I was scared for Amit Sadh. I called him and asked him what he is up to. I knew, kuch gadbad karega bachcha. Usne mujhe kaha, mujhe nahi rehna, kya kiya iss idiot ne. I got the sense that something is wrong. He asked me, ‘You don’t have work?’ I said, ‘I do, but just let’s talk’.”
Sushant had made his movie debut with Amit and Rajkummar Rao in ‘Kai Po Che’. Amit had spoken in an interview with Chetan Bhagat on his podcast that he was deeply affected by Sushant’s death and that time Smriti had helped him. He expressed, “I don’t know how she found that I am in trouble. I just got a random call from her. She spoke to me, we were on a six hour call, I said I don’t want to work in this industry, I will go live in the mountains.”
In the same interview, Smriti also spoke about the time when she was called to shoot for ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ right after she had her miscarriage.
