‘SIR/Vaathi’ Day 1 Box office collections: Dhanush, Venky Atluri and Samyuktha Menon’s empowerment film expected to mint Rs. 10 crores plus through advance bookings – Times of India

Unlike earlier days where no.of centres the film has released and the days it ran for is considered as a measuring criterion for the commercial success and box-office stamina of a star actor. Today advance bookings, Weekends, weekdays and the first ten days’ collections at the box office have become crucial things to measure the success of the film.
Reportedly, the Tamil-Telugu bilingual period action drama film ‘SIR’/’Vaathi’ released today is said to be selling its tickets like hotcakes in Tamil Nadu and through the premiere shows in Telugu states. The massive booking there and a decent day one booking in Telugu states is said to be expected to collect around Rs 4+ crores from Telugu states on day 1 and overall Rs 10 + crores on its opening day.

The film is said to have sold all the 4 shows tickets of the day and its tickets are quickly filling up for tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. The positive word of mouth and family audiences’ responses to the film will decide the ultimate fate of the film and its further collections and the film is said to have started its screenings overseas centers such as in countries like Singapore, Malaysia, the US, and Uk where Tamil and Telugu people are dominant.
