‘Sing 2’: BTS song to feature in animated musical along with tracks by Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Drake and others – Times of India

K-Pop superstars BTS will soon have their song featured in the hit animated musical ‘Sing 2’.

According to the latest reports on Collider, the sequel to the 2016 superhit film, will have a starry lineup of tracks from the Korean band, and the likes of other artists including Billie Eilish, Drake, U2, The Weeknd, Taylor Swift, Cardi B, and many more.

The animated film will have Bobby Cannavale, Chelsea Peretti, Halsey and Eric Andre join the ensemble voice cast of Matthew McConaughey, Scarlett Johansson, John C. Reily, Resse Witherspoon, Taren Egerton and Nick Kroll.

Those who have watched the film, will know that popular songs of artists are covered by the voice cast of the film and given a peppy and funky new rendition.

‘Sing’ is not the only movie that features a song by the K-Pop superstars. The Marvel film ‘Eternals’ also features a song, ‘Friends’ that was sung by bandmembers Jimin and V aka Kim Taehyung, for the album,’Map of Soul: 7′ released in February 2020. Jimin has been credited as co-writer of the track.

‘Sing’ follows a group of animals participating in a singing competition to win a grand prize. The sequel will see Buster Moon (a koala voiced by McConaughey) and his group of underdogs push their talents beyond local theatre with the hopes of performing at the most prestigious venue in the world.

Before that, Moon and his team must impress an intimidating music mogul, wolf Jimmy Crystal, enough to get a chance to take on the biggest stage. This includes getting Clay Calloway (voiced by Bono) to perform in the show.

The movie marks Bono’s animated film debut. He will voice lion Calloway, who becomes the world’s most reclusive rock legend after the death of his wife.

‘Sing 2’ is slated for a theatrical release next month.
