SIIMA Awards 2021 Winners: Rakshit Shetty, Rashmika, Darshan, and Rachita Ram among top honors – Times of India

The South Indian International Movie Awards, or SIIMA, was recently held in the city of Hyderabad to honor the top artistic efforts of the south Indian film industry. The glittery affair was graced by many superstars of Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam industries with films from 2019 in contention this time around, owing to the cancellation of the previous year’s event. And indeed, it was a special night for the Kannada Film Industry as Rakshit Shetty, Rachita Ram, Darshan, and many others bagged the top awards at SIIMA 2021.

While Rakshit Shetty impressed the critics for his portrayal of Narayana in ‘Avane Srimannarayana’ to win the Best Actor in a Leading Role – Critics award, his ‘Kirik Party’ co-star Rashmika Mandanna won the critics award in the best actress category for her performance in ‘Yajamana’

In the same vein, Darshan and Rachita Ram won awards for the best actor and actress, respectively, in the Jury category. Darshan bagged the award for his lead role in ‘Yajamana’ and Rachita did the same for her role in P. Vasu’s ‘Ayushman Bhava’.

But that wasn’t it all as many other worthy candidates from the Kannada Film Industry went on to win veritable honors. Master comedian Sadhu Kokila was acknowledged for his efforts in the film ‘Yajamana’ while veteran actor Saikumar was awarded Best Actor in a negative role for his performance in the film ‘Bharaate’. The SIIMA 2021 night turned out be quite special for Abishek Ambareesh who won the Best Debutant award.

The awards night proved to be particularly starry for the team of ‘Yajamana’ as it garnered a total of eight awards from 12 different nominations. Here is the list of all the winners from SIIMA 2021:
