signal new stories feature: Signal to bring Snapchat-like Stories feature to its app – Times of India

Snapchat was the first to bring in the Stories feature and then followed the world, including WhatsApp and Instagram. At present, rumours are rife that messaging platform, Signal, too will join the Stories bandwagon
According to XDA Developers, who ran an APK teardown of the app’s latest release, Signal could be working on a kind of self-destructing Stories feature. The name, however, is yet to be decided. Based on whatever information is available, it looks like the new feature will be very similar to the Stories feature on Instagram and Snapchat.
The new feature will allow specific individuals or groups to view a story uploaded by a user. The viewers will also be able to react directly with an emoji or respond through texts. The app will then notify the user as and when they come in. There will also likely be an option to disable reactions/responses altogether.
The report by XDA Developers also mentioned that users might be able to include text or URLs in a story and there will be a counter, where people will be able to view it before it disappears. All these options, however, appear to be completely optional, which means users will have the ability to turn them off if they want to.
Signal has not made anything official yet so the functionality might be completely different in the final version if it at all goes live. If a user wants to try this sooner, they can join the Signal beta program.
