Shweta Tripathi: Shooting for Golu in ‘Mirzapur’ made me realise the importance of mental and physical fitness – Times of India

Thanks to her busy career, Shweta plans to dedicate some time off to fitness in 2023. She shared, “This year I plan to take fitness to a different level of dedication and consistency. And it started because of Golu, because for her I wanted to look a particular type. She’s a girl who’s gone through so much, and when she holds the gun you know she’s making certain decisions. I am so happy because it’s made me realise how mental and physical fitness go hand in hand and how important they both are.”

Looking back at the fruitful 2022 the actress added, “It was a great past year. Work-wise, release wise, the year started with ‘Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein’ and the way that was received by the audience, by the critics, it was very good for me. And it’s always good when your work connects with the audience, it is the most important form of validation for me. ‘Escaype Life’ and ‘Gone Game’ season 2 were also great. It’s great to hear reviews and people’s reaction to my work. So having three releases where your work is appreciated is always a win-win for me. We also shot for ‘Mirzapur’ season, which is one of my favourite characters and very, very close to my heart. It did take a toll on me but in time I checked myself and got out of it.”

Ask her about the one film she is looking forward to in 2023 and Shweta quipped, “There is this film ‘Kanjoos Makkhichoos’ that I have shot with Kunal Kemmu. It is a fun film and I have tried comedy for the first time. In fact I consciously choose ‘Kanjoos Makkhichoos’ for this reason because everyone thinks I only do these dark and serious roles. Also, I’m very fond of Kunal Kemmu as an actor, and I got to know him as a person with this movie. He’s a lot of fun, very intelligent. This year I also have ‘M for Mafia’ where I play the role of an acid attack survivor. That was again very difficult, but a very satisfying part to play and a very important one too.”

This year, Shweta also plans to get more active. “My resolution for 2023 is going to be to be less of a sloth because I have two modes. One is this really active mode and the other is a sloth mode, where I don’t feel like doing anything. But I like my active mood more so I’m going to push myself, to be a dedicated artist, explore more and read more,” signed off the actress.
