Shocking! Is Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ fan-made poster copied from this Bengali film’s poster? | Bengali Movie News – Times of India

Vikram Chatterjee whose chiseled physique in Tathagata Mukherjee‘s upcoming film ‘Pariah’ has raised quite a few eyebrows, found himself making headlines once again. However, this time it was not for his own film, rather it is due to his photo being replaced by Ranbir Kapoor’s image in a much-anticipated Bollywood film’s poster. The controversy started when a website shared a post on social media, featuring a list of upcoming films that included both ‘Jawan’ and ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’, as well as Ranbir’s ‘Animal’, with a modified version of Vikram’s Bengali filmPariah‘s poster.

Expressing his concern on social media, Vikram shared the post and humbly claimed that the poster used for Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ actually belonged to his film, ‘Pariah’, albeit with Ranbir’s face superimposed.
Despite being a huge fan of Ranbir, the Bengali actor wrote, “Dear IIFA, with all humility….I claim this poster used for Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal to be from my film #PARIAH with Ranbir’s face on it. Being a fan of this man, I don’t mind it much, but he might, I’m guessing.”
Interestingly, when ETimes researched the above-mentioned ‘Animal’ poster we couldn’t find any link between the makers and this controversial poster that has been used. It seems the poster is not an official one from the ‘Animal’ makers, instead, it is most likely a fan-made poster.
Later while speaking to the media Vikram addressed the matter, expressing his belief that the website perhaps made an unfortunate mistake. He mentioned that this was not the first time that another film had imitated Pariah’s poster, citing a previous incident involving a South Indian film.
Speaking about the representation of Bengali films on national platforms, Vikram expressed his hope that one day a Bengali film, maybe ‘Pariah’ itself, would be recognized and featured on such platforms based on its own merits. He pointed out that nationally, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Punjabi, and Marathi films often receive more recognition than Bengali films, and he aspired for Bengali cinema to be celebrated nationally for its own accomplishments.

Meanwhile, ‘Pariah’, directed by Tathagata Mukherjee, also stars Sreelekha Mitra, Angana Roy, and others in important roles.
