Shikhar Dhawan breaks silence after ex-wife Ayesha Mukherjee announces divorce on social media

India opener Shikhar Dhawan’s wife Ayesha Mukherjee left everyone surprised when she took to Instagram to announce that the couple’s marriage of eight years was over. It is to be noted that Dhawan is currently in the UAE with Delhi Capitals team ahead of the resumption of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. It seems that the left-handed batsman is not very much concerned about his peronsal life as he preferred not to make any direct remark on his divorce.

Dhawan posted a cryptic message on Instagram on Wednesday and said, “Kisi bhi mukaam ko paane ke liye poora jaan, samjh, dil lagta hai. Pyaar hona chaiyeh apna kaam ke towards tabhi barkhat aati hain aur enjoyment bhi. Keep on working hard to turn your dreams into reality.”

It may be recalled that Dhawan led the Indian side during their limited-overs series against Sri Lanka in July. 

Earlier, Ayesha took to Instagram to announce the news of divorce. “I THOUGHT DIVORCE WAS A DIRTY WORD UNTIL I BECAME A 2 TIME DIVORCEE,” she said.

Aesha was married to an Australian businessman earlier and has two daughters from a previous marriage. She and Dhawan got engaged in 2009 and married in 2012. Aesha is an amateur kickboxer.

“Funny how words can have such powerful meanings and associations. I experienced this firsthand as a divorcee. The first time I went through a divorce I was soooooooo f**kn scared. I felt like I had failed and I was doing something so wrong at that time,” Aesha said in the post.
