Sharvari Wagh on ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal’s wedding, the film she is most excited about in 2022 and more – Times of India
Your film ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ finally released after such a big delay. Also you received a good response from the audience and critics alike. How does that make you feel?
It actually makes me feel very blessed because, like you said, my film did release after a very long time and I have been waiting for this day for many years and the fact that people have loved and appreciated my part in the film, and they’ve really sent so many messages to me on Instagram… It’s new to me because it’s my first film and people recognise me nowadays at malls which is so strange for me, but it’s just what reciprocates their love, so I’m feeling very blessed.
It has now released on OTT, are you getting any messages from your fans on social media?
I am! A lot of people have watched it on OTT of course because of the time that we are in today, a lot of people weren’t feeling secure going to the theatres, and which is why this film is now on OTT for people who enjoyed it at their homes. But there are lots of people who watched it, who loved it and who are sending lots of DMs to me.
Your personal life is always under scanner. Do you think it takes away from your work?
No, I don’t think so. Also, I’ve just started out so I don’t think my personal life is under the scanner so much. But I think it’s something that comes with the job. It’s just the fact that people want to know more about you and that’s just because they are interested and invested in what you are, and you’re a person that you are, the work that you do. So I think it’s sweet somewhere and it’s just something that comes with our job.
You recently also attended Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif’s wedding in Rajasthan. If you would like to tell us anything about it?
I mean like the pictures that they posted, it was really beautiful.
One good thing and one bad thing happened to you in 2021.
I think the best thing that happened to me is that my film released this year and like I said, I’ve been waiting for this for a very long time. It just sets things in motion for me and I’m very excited to see what 2022 is going to bring for me in terms of my career and my work life.
I don’t think that there’s anything bad that happens to you because everything or anything that happens just teaches you. So the lesson that I’ve learned this year is to be patient and to really work hard.
What is your highest and lowest moment of 2021?
My highest moment of 2021 would be my friends and family finally watching the film that I was talking about for I don’t know how many years. So for me just to see them proud, just to see those smiles on their faces because they supported me in difficult times and this is my way of giving something back to them. So that has been my high. And there, in fact, has not been a low in 2021. It has been a great year!
Favourite film of 2021
I really liked Shershaah. I think Shershaah was a really beautiful film.
Favourite OTT show of 2021
I really liked the show called ‘Bandish Bandits’, because it has a lot to do with music and I really like how they have incorporated music.
Resolution for 2022
Resolution for 2022 will just be like every other person to work out more and eat clean (laughs).
One film you are looking forward to in 2022
I am really looking forward to ’Gangubai Kathiawadi’.
What are you working on next?
There is a very interesting project that I am working on with YRF. I can’t talk much about it but I’m very excited to share it in 2022.
